The Magic of Morning Rituals

The magic of morning rituals.
Why you should practice them and how they can change your life.

Do you have special morning rituals that you couldn’t survive without? Or maybe you are awake and get directly slept away by the river of negative thoughts, concerns, and doings made in a rush!?

Maybe you’re trying to explain yourself right now why this issue doesn’t apply to you by saying that you are the night person refusing to even think about morning rituals.

Let me make this clear for you.

It doesn’t matter if you are a morning or night person. We all have some rituals if we like it or not!

The only difference is that some of us choose them consciously without letting them rule their lives while others do the opposite allowing them to control their lives.

And yes, you are right. There are two kinda people – mornings’ fans called “early birds” and “evenings’ lovers” known as “night owls,” and they both have some rituals.

Evening person uses snoozer in the morning, does mostly everything in rush before leave home to be on time at work, drink coffee as the first “meal” of the day, while morning one jump out of bed before or with alarm, do things relaxing way, drink glass of water and take time for breakfast 😉

Guess which one feels better during the day?

“It is in your moment of decision that your destiny is shaped.”

Tony Robbins

Our life is the result of choices we make every day.

Whether we feel disappointed about the outcome we get, frustrated about work we do, unhappy in the relationship or feel good with the progress we make, solutions we find or people we are surrounded with, all these are the effects of our decisions.

As one of my value is well-being, I always search for improvement. Feeling good is my biggest priority that’s why when I discovered how big impact morning rituals have on me and my journey, I didn’t have doubts to implement them as an element of my day to day life.

I used to be a night owl. Rarely getting sleep before midnight, using snoozer at least five times before I went out of bed next morning, having a quick cup of coffee as my breakfast and having this inner dialogue in my head complaining about circumstances, people, places, and results. OMG! That was me! I was feeling so deprived of energy, being not effective enough and focusing on the wrong things. Now I know how bad it was for my well-being!

I remember that day when I asked myself:

What if I could have anything I want and live the way I truly desire?

What would my life look like?

What would I do differently from what I do now?

How would I feel and act?

TRUST ME, that was an awakening moment for me! I decided to change.

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”

Albert Einstein

Next morning I was awake early without using snoozer! I remember I started my day with a glass of water with lemon, practicing yoga, eating a good breakfast before I left home for my work.

I won’t forget the energy that accompanied me on this day. Unforgettable!

By changing our mornings, we can change our lives!

Morning rituals are the source of many profits: they help to save time, start the day positively, shift the mindset, focus on opportunities instead of obstacles, increase the well-being. In turn, our lives are becoming better!

How to choose the right rituals for yourself?

Well, there are many of them you can implement in your daily practice. I want to share the most powerful ones I use during my mornings to increase joy and well-being in my life. I encourage you to try all of them and see which suit you the most.

#1 Meditation

It’s a perfect way to clean the mind from all unnecessary thoughts. It’s a priceless practice of being in the present moment. Meditation helps to reduce stress, empower self-awareness, improve concentration and build a deeper connection with the true self.

Find a few minutes every day to sit in the silence. And as you sit, close your eyes, take a deep breath … and breath out … (repeat it few times)

As you breathe in, let all good and positive energy enter your body, mind, and soul, and as you breathe out, let all negative emotions and thoughts leave your space.

Allow your thoughts to flow without trying to attach them. Let them be, let them flow. Every time your focus goes to some thoughts, turn your attention back to your breath.

#2 Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements that you repeat to yourself consistently to attract into your life whatever it is that you desire. They help reprogram your thoughts patterns by replacing negative thoughts with more beautiful, positive and empowering.

They need to be charged with positive emotions to create desired results.

Now, here is the thing. Repeating positive affirmations don’t create magic and miracles right away. It needs to be done the right way and will take time.

You can create your own affirmations or use the ones that resonate with you and make you FEEL GOOD!

  • Here are some few helpful tips on how to design your affirmations:
  • make them in the present tense
  • play with the wording until you find something that you believe!
  • always use positive language
  • make your affirmations short and simple
  • use the present tense
  • believe what you are repeating, and feel that your desire has become true, or is on the way of becoming true.

#3 Journaling

Journaling is a practice that helps us to connect to our inner self, our body, our dreams and our purpose in life. It’s a keystone habit that affects how we work, eat, play, live, and communicate.

I see journaling as a self-improvement and self-discovery tool.

If you have no idea where to start, try this => you can journal about your daily activities, about what scares you the most, what makes you feel good, what are decisions you made or going to take in the future and many others.

How to start?

“My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way.”

Ernest Hemingway

Take a moment every day. Connect with your true self, and allow your soul to communicate thoughts, emotions, desires, worries, hopes, and dreams. Trust that your soul knows exactly what you need to know right now and write all of this in your journal.

#4 Gratitude

What we focus on, we attract!

Gratitude helps us to focus on the things we are thankful for in our daily life, instead of giving attention to what we don’t have.

By filling the heart with gratitude, we eliminate negative emotions. It’s worth taking a few minutes a day and thinking about things, people and situations we are appreciated for.

Take a moment and write down what you are grateful for each day.

#5 Yoga or other activities

It’s obvious that physical activity plays a significant role in our life.

You don’t have to spend hours to train your body. Start with a few minutes a day. And again I encourage you to choose what feels good to you. Don’t try to push yourself to visit a gym if you don’t feel like going there. You can take a walk at the beach, visit a park in the neighborhood, or just do few your favorite asanas on the mat in your living room. Do what feels right for you, the other way you will always struggle to keep doing that.

Choose what feels good.

How to choose the right rituals for yourself?

The most important is to paying attention to your own needs.

I recommend you tune in with yourself and ask what your needs are for this moment? What do your body, mind, and soul need to feel good?

Trust me; you know what serves you the best. Follow your intuition and feelings, and you will be OK!
